Floyd “Wray” Griffith

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Wray Griffith at his residence in Kamloops, B.C. on March 18th, 2014 at the age of 57 years.

Wray leaves to mourn his passing, his loving mother, Pat Stordalsvoll of Vernon, B.C.; his daughter, Christina and her family of Revelstoke, B.C.; his son, James of Vancouver, B.C.; his daughter, Megan of Vernon, B.C.; and his sister; Pat (Paul) Jones of Kamloops, B.C. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Griffith in 1970; and his step-father, Otto Stordalsvoll in 2004.

Wray was born in Creston, B.C. on August 2nd, 1956. He attended school there until 1973, then moved to Drayton Valley, Alberta where he graduated from High School. He then attended Lethbridge Community College where he took a two year broadcasting course. Wray joined CJIB in Vernon where he was employed for seven years. Patrick Nicol was his friend and mentor. He later moved to Revelstoke and was employed at Regent Inn as a DJ. While in Revelstoke he married and had two children: Christina and Jimmy. He returned to Vernon and took various jobs as a DJ. Lastly he lived and worked in Kamloops until his death.

In respecting Wray’s wishes, he was cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Wray to the B.C. Heart & Stroke Foundation, #4-1551 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, B.C. V1Y 9M9.
